CMC HV is a technical grade carboxymethylcellulose used to provide viscosity and fluid loss control in water based drilling fluids. CMC HV complies with API specification 13 A / ISO 13500 for CMC HV.
SOLUBILITY IN WATER @ 20 0C
Granules, off white powder
1.5 - 1.7
CMC HV is used as a fluid loss reducer and viscosifier in freshwater and brackish water systems. CMC HV can be used in chloride systems to saturation but is most effective when the salinity is below 50,000 mg/l.
Cost effective provider of filtration control.
Effective in pH-range 6 – 9.
Effective in low concentrations.
Not subjected to bacterial fermentation.
Treatments for freshwater and seawater fluids are generally 0.5 - 4.0 lb/bbl (2.85 – 11.4 kg/m3). Actual concentrations required will depend on the type of mud system, salinity, temperature and properties desired.
Rapidly losses effectiveness with increase in salinity.
Temperature limit of @ 225 - 250 0F (107 - 121 0C).
Consult MSDS before use and use personal protective equipment as advised.
CMC HV is available in 25 kg (55 lb) polyethylene bags. All materials are stored in a dry well ventilated area.
